Formerly known as the High Performance Building Zone, this unique space on the exhibit floor will again provide attendees with industry-best expertise for building more durable, energy efficient, higher-quality homes—but given the unique challenges faced by our industry, we’re expanding this year’s learning to include efficiencies that can be found in additional areas of the construction process: use and types of materials including offsite systems, labor, jobsite productivity, construction speed, cost and more.
With this wider focus, we’ll be bringing together an unprecedented collection of experts from across the industry to lead our demonstrations and talks. Ben Bogie, a second-generation high performance builder from New England, will lead the Building Zone demonstrations, and will be joined by a host of leading builders and influencers.
The Building Zone will feature the following three distinct learning areas to show and explain the processes for better performance and construction efficiency.
The Demonstration Stage: The How-To
Through a series of live, interactive demonstrations, attendees will see first-hand the steps for constructing all the critical components of a home from foundation to roof system using the latest methods in high performance building techniques and construction efficiency.
The Presentation Stage: The Why
The Presentation Stage features interactive talks led by experts and influencers who will dive deeper into the techniques and best practices addressed on the Demo Stage and explore what’s next in high performance building and construction efficiency.
The Building Display Area: The Hands-On
Full size displays of walls, roofs and other components shown and discussed on stage will be placed throughout the Building Zone so that attendees are able to inspect the construction details and see the real-world application of the techniques discussed throughout the week.
